Another week is underway.  The BMW is at the mechanic's shop.  Hopefully, it won't break the bank and bankrupt the Firm.  I heard from my editor earlier this week. She is almost done.  a few minor changes and some recommended updates, and Being Kimberly, The Adventure Begins will be ready to publish. the publishing part should not take longer than a week and maybe two more for distribution. Collision Orbit is moving along nicely.  I anticipate a finish by mid-July.

I try to keep politics out of this blog, but some things need to be said.  Former President and Presumptive Republican Nominee Donald Trump was convicted of 34 felony counts in a New York court.  I should think that a person of honor would voluntarily withdraw from consideration in running for Chief Executive Officer of this nation.  The fact that he has not, to me, is a clear indication that the man is unfit for public office. He still has charges to face in Georgia for trying to overturn election results, and more federal charges resulting from retaining classified papers from the white house in his home in Mar-A-Largo. Trumpettes, This man is EVIL.  Keep him away from your wives, children, and public office.

A psychopath doesn't know the difference between right and wrong.

A Sociopath knows the difference, just doesn't give a damn.

Which one is Mr Trump?

The weekend is over and brought ups and downs.  It was a roller coaster ride right up until I arrived back home yesterday afternoon in my Daughter-in-law's Jeep.  The trip north to Atlanta was perfect.  The Evening for Equality was also. I was joined at dinner by my friend whom I met in Portland Oregon.  Lovely woman and a wonderful dinner companion. After the speeches, (Always necessary at every rubber chicken dinner) and the presentation of the annual awards, Lynnola and I went to the hotel cocktail lounge and had a drink or three.  Around Midnight, we parted ways, Lynnola to drive home and I upstairs to my luxurious room.

After a not-so-good night's sleep, I awoke early, packed, retrieved the Beamer, and headed south to Daytona Beach. Most of the trip was uneventful except for stops for breakfast and gas, until 15 miles north of Ormand Beach, I lost the clutch. The car was still drivable, just not shiftable.  I was able to work it into 5th gear and limped the final 15 miles into the motel parking lot. That was a Down.  My oldest son Thomas and his friend managed to sus out the problem and get the clutch fixed.  Up

Dinner with the Family on Sunday evening was a UP.  Sunday my Daughter-in-law and I drove onto Daytona Beach and found a spot to scatter Phil's ashes into the Atlantic.  Very much a down.  A Very tear-filled moment. Warning, the Atlantic is now quite a bit saltier from all the tears.  Dinner on Monday evening with the two family members that missed out on Sunday and another UP.  Checked out of the motel early Tuesday morning, joined up with my Daughter-in-law, and started up I95 for home. Up.

65 miles east of Tallahassee, Florida, the Oil pressure light came on suddenly, and easing over to the shoulder, I tried to figure out what was wrong and the engine made a funny sound and died. a tiny bit of smoke wafted out from underneath the hood.  Down.  Definitely Down.

Tripple A was called and a rollback was dispatched so after about an hour's wait, they arrived, loaded the beamer up and hauled it to my house.  So far, I have not found a mechanic to fix it.

I have taken the weekend off work and will shortly head north to Atlanta, GA for tonight's Evening For Equality.  There are old friends to see and sure to be interesting People to meet.  We had a good year in Georgia for us Transpeople.  I like that phrase. Stop calling us Transwomen or Transmen, We are people first and foremost, so call us TransPeople.

Sunday morning brings an early rising and check out of the Intercontinental Buckhead and in the BMW and southward bound to Daytona Beach.  The family will all be together for a brief time. Since last year's loss of one of our own, beloved son and brother, we have vowed to somehow get together each year even if only for a short visit.

There are also plans to scatter Phil's ashes in the Atlantic. EPA says you can provided you go 3 miles offshore into international waters, but Florida has no regulation against scattering them right off the beach.

It will be a bittersweet moment. Sad that he is gone, sweet because the family will be united.

Collision Orbit is moving along nicely.  I am up to chapter 15 now.  When I paused writing that book at chapter 12 and finished the second Kimberly book, I was having a bit of writer's block.  the story was stumbling along.  Since restarting the writing, the story is beginning to move right along. I input 5 thousand words yesterday. Characterization has improved and the characters are fleshing out nicely.  If i can only hold out long enough to finish telling the story.

Writers are first and foremost, storytellers.  Like the minstrels of old, we wander from town to town carrying our own version of the news. Nowadays, with the www and cellphones, we can sit in a comfortable chair in the AC and tell our tales to the world.  That was an eye-opener for sure as the first book I wrote began selling in other parts of the world.  I simply want to meet the two people who bought my book in Japan.

So Long for now, I must go pack for Atlanta.
